Aadhar Card is one of an essential document for all the residents of India. Though it was started only for the purpose of establishing identities, but it has successfully replaced many of the things and is required for various day to day activities like for opening a bank account, issuing driving license, issuing passport, etc. Due to such important uses in various fields its one of the most important document that every person needs for any identification process in India.
This identity verification card (Aadhaar Card) is issued by the Government of India by a Central Government Agency named “Unique Identification Authority of India” (UIDAI). Basically Aadhar Card is nothing but a 12-digit unique identity number which identifies the 1.2 billion residents of the country on the basis of their biometric and is probably the largest biometric identification program in the world. Aadhar Card Correction Guide – Step by Step Procedure
You must have your registered mobile number with yourself in order to receive One-Time Password (OTP) to process further with the procedure of correction of your adhar card. If you don’t have the registered mobile number with yourself for one or the other reason, then you must visit the nearest Aadhar center.
First of all your need to visit UIDAI Self Service Update Portal (https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/ssup-home)
After opening the following page with the help of link mentioned above, scroll through the webpage and click on ‘Click Here’ button mentioned at the bottom of the page.
Enter your 12 digit unique aadhaar card number and click on send OTP button, soon you will receive an One-Time Password on the mobile number registered with the aadhar card. Now enter the received OTP followed by the text verification code.
After which select the field you want to modify among “Name, Gender, D.O.B, Address, Mobile Number”. Click on ‘Submit’ button.
Now enter your updated information whether its “Name, Gender, D.O.B, Address or Mobile Number”. Re-check the entered details carefully and click on ‘Submit Update Request’.
After reviewing the entered details carefully click you must proceed with the process of uploading the scanned copy of proof. Proof can be any one of the document among Passport, Voter ID, Government Photo ID Cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU, etc which are mentioned on the official government portal (uidai.gov.in). After uploading the proof click on ‘Submit’ Button.
In the next step choose the BPO Service Provider for your update request & click on submit.
Finally you are done with the process of filing data update request for Aadhar Card. Soon you will receive Update Request Number (URN) via sms, which is useful in tracking the update request.
